My refrigerator was delivered on April 3, 2016. I began calling for service July 2 when the bottom freezer door started depositing ice chunks on my kitchen floor every time we opened it. An appointment for service was made for July 18, service never showed up. Another appointment for August 3 was made and again service never came. I called the 800 number on Aug 19 again arranged service for Aug 24 after hours so that we did not have to take anymore time off work. When repair finally looked at the fridge they said the door was not aligned and did not close so the frost builds up and breaks off onto the floor. This can be fixed with a new door that can take from 6 weeks to 8 months as they are not stocked and have to be made at a factory. The fridge constantly runs and is starting to leak water through to my kitchen floor and basem*nt ceiling tiles.I called Maytag/Whirlpool on Aug 25 and the service agent told me the best they could do for me was extend my original warrant by 6 months while I wait for replacement part and they advised I purchase the extended warranty. The second agent named Gabby I spoke to advised me to call Home Depot where I purchased the fridge to see if they would do something for me. She would write down my concerns but had nothing more to say or do for me since the repair person deemed the unit repairable and a part has been ordered. I called Home Depot on Aug 25 and I spoke to Appliance Dept who told me the manager who could help me was off that day. He advised me to stick weather stripping around the door to seal the leaks. I said I was hesitant to do anything that may void a warranty and he agreed. He suggested I may get a loaner fridge but I have heard nothing yet. I want a replacement fridge.When you pay $2000 for a fridge it should be worry free for at least a year? I have been reading reviews and I am wondering why this is not a recalled appliance as this seems to be a very common problem. I am sad that Whirlpool is not standing behind this product. Home Depot has been in touch with me regarding this fridge issue and the lack of customer service provided by Maytag. They are replacing the fridge on Sept 9th 2016 and taking the old unit away. Home Depot has tried to get in touch with Maytag and they have not gotten a response at all about my faulty unit.The staff at Home Depot in Peterborough have been excellent to speak to and have apologized for the issues with getting service to my appliance. I am very grateful to them for their assistance and for following up with me in this matter. The downside is that I am getting another exact Maytag unit as a replacement so hopefully this does not start all over again. Home Depot has been a great retailer to deal with. I am very saddened to hear that even Home Depot cannot get responses from this manufacturer. I have also lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

We purchased a Bravo Maytag series top load washer from Sears in June 22nd 2013. See receipt for verification of sale. It seemed to be alright and we were hoping to be a lucky consumer, but now it is January 2015 and today I could smell smoke along with a weird smell (like an auto repair shop smell). I immediately was concerned about the entire house catching fire. Luckily I figured out the smell was coming from the washer and was able to pause it, stop, and then turn off. We are not happy. Our whole main level smells awful. And Im pregnant so this is probably not good to be inhaling. We are looking for recalls that may be out but weve only seen front load recalls not top loaders. When we bought this it had great reviews, but now it appears there are so many complaints, so my question is: Why isnt Maytag doing something about this massive problem?

Bought the Maytag high efficiency washing machine with the auto-sensing and deep water wash feature. It took some getting use to because of all the washing choices and different noises it makes. Auto-sensing seems to use very little water which is strange but clothes seem to come out clean. Best bet for me is like the old school way and use deep water wash and light load which is shorter and thats most efficient power wise but will use more water which is fine by me. Also bought the matching dryer and thats a 5 star review. Excellent product.

I am submitting this review today to express my disappointment with my Maytag washer. This is the Maytag MVWX655DW (Bravo), with Serial# C61842055. In August of 2016 I lost many treasured items due to a flood in Lafayette, Louisiana. My daughter and I were devastated and displaced because of this event. This is also in addition to completing Cancer treatment 2 days before the flood.I lost my GE washer which was a great product. It was a struggle for a long time, but we were finally get back on our feet. I was able to get another place to live, and it was time to purchase a washer. I was told that Maytag was one of the best products on the market, so I decided to purchase my first Maytag washer. This did not turn out well for me, and it was very disappointing. After 9 months of ownership of this product, it is broken! It is my belief that the product may have been defective.I put in a service call, and had a repairman come to my apartment on June 19th. I was told that my washer needs several parts to repair it, including a pump. I have never had this issue with prior washers. My previous washer before my GE purchase survived for over 10 years before it has had any issues. I called on June 26th to ask about Maytag issuing me a new washer or a full refund, instead of repairing this faulty product. I was told no, and was offered and extended warranty for 6 more months and $75.00. I expressed to her that I would rather have a new washer.The Bravo Washer is a very bad product. Instead of taking advantage of customers, Maytag needs to stand by that 10 year warranty sticker on the washer. Please understand this purchase is a LEMON. This washer did not last a year. After all I have been through, I did not need this financial hardship. In the long run, this product will die again. Unfortunately for me I may not be able to afford to purchase another washer. I am still getting follow-up treatment for my Cancer, and it is very expensive. Can someone please re-evaluate the need for a replacement washer or offer me a full refund? To begin with, the Bravos 300 washer was bought because we owned a Maytag previously and it was with us for 25 years. It was still running when we gave it away and the only problem was a small oil leak starting at the drive. The new washer has no agitator, just the new style flat thing at the bottom of the tub. You cannot wash a set of fitted sheets without it turning into a tangled mess. The washer quit working after about 5 years and all indications pointed to the control. The control would reset after unplugging, but would freeze immediately when you tried to enter a command. We live in an isolated place and it is not feasible to fly in a service person. I ordered a new control, but there was no change in function. After several hours of detective work, it turns out that the mickey mouse plug for the electrical connection at the pump had broken inside. Because the pump would not work, the whole control would freeze. We will never buy another Maytag.

Five months later, the wash machine needed a new gear case because it was making this horrible loud noise when it was washing and spinning. The service guy came over and replaced this part. Now, the washer does not want to spin. The clothes are soaked, and I have to stand there and manually turn the knob to spin it; and it still doesnt spin right. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a washing machine, and I regret ever buying this Maytag. They should recall this series of washers because there is something really wrong when you have to have it repaired twice, and it is not even a year old!

This is a wonderful washing machine. For cleaning clothes it does exactly what you expect from a washer. We have had 2 Neptune front loaders. They, however, have a couple flaws I dont want to live with again and will be looking for one that has come up with the solution to them. One, the bearings on them need replaced on a periodic basis or it sounds like a 747 taking off. Two - the front gasket around the barrel has a mold problem no matter how much you try to keep the thing clean. Other than that, these machines perform fantastic.

Turned on by itself like other have commented and will not let you push any buttons. Maytag/Whirlpool refuses to do anything about this at all and will cost me over $250 to fix an appliance I purchased at $499. How disgraceful of a company to not stand by their product... A huge shame on you Maytag/Whirlpool for not standing behind your product. If anyone knows of a way to get involved with a class action suit against this company I would like to get in on it.

It will not take fabric softener unless its in the ball and if you use extra rinse you dont get to use fab softener at all. (I like liquid fab softener on some things). Why it doesnt have a dispenser is beyond me. And the bleach dispenser is poorly designed, too close to the tub and splashes every time. Ive had this six months and would get rid of it in a heartbeat if I could afford to. Plus it snags towels. The washer is crap. And its a Maytag. I wish it would break so I could justify buying one that has some decent features like fab soft dispenser, bleach dispenser that doesnt splash, drum that doesnt snag.

Thats HIGHER than my billable rate! Rip-off Service & parts charges. Found out it was easier & cheaper to troubleshoot ONLINE myself using FIXYA site and others. Expense for an appliance above what most run ~ 1500 for both units. Plus if it doesnt have or offer a 5-year warranty then something is wrong with the quality! Maytag Neptune Series MLE2000AYW 27 Inch Electric Laundry Center with 3.34 Cu. Ft. Washer Capacity, 4 Wash Cycles and 6.0 Cu. Ft. Dryer Capacity, 3 Dry Cycles: White. Worst part on this model was a WAX MOTOR that they used for the Washer to control the door being closed or open. Next worst DESIGN error was they didnt put a drain hole in the plastic rim seal for the Washer door, that area would build up mold & mildew if you didnt learn to keep Washer door open at all times AFTER a wash. We learned by removing the light bulb! Therefore it was easy for my crew to learn to leave the door open after washing. This model was Energy star certified and had a long life here 12 years. Unfortunately I think they build these things to only last 10 years; then you have to replace them. In years gone by... the 1970s Washing machines and dryers would last 20 years!!

All began malfunctioning within the first year: *The refrigerator began to make a loud rattle and the digital control pad needed to be replaced -twice within the first year. Within the next year the compressor had to be replace. *Dishwasher electronic control board was replaced twice, broke again and is still broken. *Microwave door handle broke off, and turntable motor broke.*Range burner ignition system only works on two burners and the shelf for the top oven does not fit -*Maytag refused to replace. Also, after using self-cleaning feature the lower oven still fills the room with smoke so it has been used very little. So, how much worse could it be? I had faith in Maytag-thats why we bought the brand.

Will cost you more but it will last longer with less repairs! P.S., While Maytag does make some of their own appliances, when Whirlpool bought Maytag years ago they shut down the Newton, Iowa plant. Whirlpool builds that washer and puts Maytags name on it. If you want a good washer buy a Speed Queen, go online and check their reviews! One more thing, LG and Samsung build terrible appliances. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them, just saying!

I had a repairman look at it and he said it was the control panel and he would order one. He ordered it and we waited a couple of weeks, no part. He called about it and they told him Sept. 9th it would be sent. Sept. 9 came went and no part. He called them again and they told him they had no record of the order. So he ordered it again in few weeks, was told it was back-ordered. This happened a couple more times and I told him to cancel the order. I would go buy a new one but not a Maytag.

We are extremely frustrated with this machine. It takes an extremely long time to go through the cycle, compared to past washing machines, even when it is working. It rarely completes the cycle and often goes back to wash and stops. We have no way of knowing if it washed or rinsed or what. To get it to finish, we have to turn the dial to drain and spin. The clothes always come out tightly twisted and tangled up and have to be untwisted and items pulled from each other....so they are extremely wrinkled! This is the first and last Maytag product we will ever buy. We HATE it!!! I would say it has been a lemon from day one but Home Hardware was no help when we complained. We tell everyone to stay away from this product.

We purchased our home in late 2010 and was excited about our HE front-load washer (and dryer). Immediately, we noticed mold on the rubber boot, and the smell was horrible. We ran the washer with Affresh several times and left the door to open when not in use, and that seemed to help. Then most recently, the washers been shutting off mid-cycle through normal wash setting. I used to pound the washer out of frustration, and that seemed to get the machine working, but now it doesnt work at all. We had a repairman come out, and he charged us $94 to basically remove debris from the drain hose, and he told us that if the washer fails again, wed be looking at an expensive repair cost pertaining to the central control unit. We had a second repairman come out and replace the central control unit. It worked while he was here, but now its messing up again, shutting down mid-cycle. I have to unplug the washer for hours, replug, put it on rapid wash cycle (and hope it doesnt fail), and if it fails, then unplug, wait, put it on spin cycle... Its aggravating, and were looking at $300 to $400 in repair costs. Our repair man says front loaders are a nightmare (and he still has his non-HE washer from the 80s, and its still working). Our washer is Maytag Epic Z, model number MHWZ600TE00. Avoid front loaders, and definitely Maytag or Whirlpool front loaders. Well need to shop around for a new washer, an old-fashioned top loader this time.

I forked over the $$$ to have the part replaced and installed. Now, 2 years later the panel is once again slowly dying. I just got off the phone with the Maytag people and they refuse fix it and take responsibility for the product failure. The machine has worked adequately for me aside from the control panel issues. The control panel was built to break. Shame on Maytag! Lets go forward with the class action lawsuit!!!

Changed a part, not related to the noise. Called back out. He admitted he could hear the noise. Whirlpool engineering department says normal. Sorry, I should never hear a clicking noise upstairs with two closed doors and 150 feet between me and the washer. Will be going back to Samsung next time.

Same thing as what most people are complaining about - I also have hardwood floors that are ruined. I just had a kitchen remodel and now I wish the floors werent new. Warped badly under the fridge. It is a constant pain. I have to break up the ice with a blunt object to get it out. I was so excited to get a new fridge. Of course it was on sale, now I know why. I wish I had just kept the old one, at least my floors would look great. Lame.

The Maytag Neptune FAV6800AWW Washer has to be the crappiest product I have ever bought. I bought it brand new and hardly ever used it. The first time it broke it was luckily under warranty, although we had to pay for the repair man to install it. It took two new circuit boards before it was fixed. A few months later, the circuit board went again, and it was conveniently for Maytag now out of warranty. The repair man told us that their company never carried these washers because from the get go they had a ton of problems. He said that the odds of it breaking again were great and that we would be better off putting the money into a new washer.I dont understand how the company, in good conscience, could continue to sell a product to consumers that they knew was faulty. It was not a cheap washer and I have never been so disappointed in my life. You would think they would have had a mass recall or, knowing how many problems consumers were having with the product, offer so much money towards a new one.I laugh at the commercials where the Maytag man was bored because their product never broke I could have kept that man busy for months!

I looked for the brand (Maytag Neptune) which I couldnt find. Settled on the Maytag Maxima which is a complete bust. The Maxima doesnt fill with enough water so Ive had to add water to both the wash and rinse cycles. It has also become very noisy. The repairman has already stated that there is nothing he can do about the lack of water since the amount of water is set in the factory and cannot be changed. The Maytag Maxima is a complete bust for me! Its a front-loader that has me adding water (at least 2 gallons) to every load no matter how small. Wish Id bought a GE top-loader that Ive seen advertised.

The latest was a control board at a cost of $225 and the repair man only charged me a service call and not labor because I was so upset. I called Maytag hoping they would at least pay for the part, but they only want to sell you a service contract (Of course it wont cover the control board, that already happened but would be happy to sell you a new extend warranty). We go to remove clothing and cut hand open on exposed metal. As if that wasnt bad enough, several hundreds of dollars in clothing had cuts in them. I am using the extra rinse constantly since I dont trust the amount of water (not) used. The dryer however, is worthless! No matter the garment or setting, everything comes out in a ball. Tshirts are twisted and wrinkled and half wet. I end up rewashing almost everything then being a guardian for the dryer---checking and rechecking every load. Maytag says sorry, its out of warranty. I purchased this washer in January 2017 at our local Home Depot here in Mexico. It was a washer/dryer combo. Now, in July, a mere 6 months and only a few wash loads later, it has gone from the worst machine I have ever owned to what I consider to be garbage material. First of all, it boasts about not using much water. This is true... Only 1/4 of your load is in the 3 inches of water at the bottom of the machine and the top 3/4 never even gets wet. I couldnt believe it. Now, I put 2 sheets in this morning and it fills almost to the point of spilling out, though I have to give it credit for shutting off the water before it actually did so. This is a NEW washing machine!!! I, along with a lot of other folks from what I am now discovering, are all in the same boat. I remember Maytag being a mark of excellence way back in the day... We bought a Maytag dishwasher (Model: MDBH979AWS3) in January 2010. In April 2012, the control panel stopped working. A local repairman came out to see it for $160, diagnosed it, and suggested that we call Maytag to see if they would give us the part because it was only a two-year old machine. He did say that the control panel was not a part that was troublesome!Maytag offered an extended warranty for only $287 that would cover the part! The total repair cost was almost equal to the cost of a new machine. Home Depot, when consulted, acted as if they know nothing. After reading about other peoples experiences with this company, I feel that it is no longer an honorable company standing behind its products. In fact, the whole repair process is set up to rip off the consumer.We will now look to purchase the best and cheapest non-Maytag product, not from Home Depot, and throw it away when it gives out, which more than likely will be soon. These companies have finally convinced me to do what I am sure what they have always wanted every consumer to do. Throw it away when it breaks down.

Purchased the Maytag Bravo Nov 2010 and had to replace it after just 5 years. In the five years we owned it, it required a new water pump and the stabilizers had to be repaired. Its motor burned up and I was not able to find a replacement. I was quoted $224 (parts only) for a replacement motor and 10 weeks delivery. My wife never liked the machine as it was not able to clean clothes that well. We did not find much difference in any of the settings. We tended to put very few clothes in each load in order to get them clean. We were dissatisfied that it did not have a soak cycle and the lid lock was particularly annoying.

Initially, we had no performance problems with it; however, on January 12, 2012, the washing machine wouldnt start. That day, I called Maytag for service on the machine, and it was fixed. Then on August 18, 2012, the same thing happened. A serviceman was called for the second time, and was repaired. Ironically, the Maytag 1- year warranty was expiring on August 24.Prior to the expiration of the Maytag warranty, I had been contacted by mail about an extended warranty plan, which I thought was being offered by Maytag, which it wasnt. The offer was being made by Federal Warranty Service Corporation. I purchased a 5-year extended warranty, expiring on August 25, 2017, the reason to have coverage for what seems to be a faulty machine. I would probably need it.Dealing with Federal Warranty has been nothing but grief. In 2012, the washing machine, had required 3 service calls, one with a Supervisor explaining my frustration with the number of service calls I have had made for the washing machine, but nothing has changed. Thus far in 2013, I have made two (2) additional calls for service on the same washing machine. Not only are there the numerous service calls made but the inconvenience of not having a washing machine, and the additional costs for outside laundering, during that time has to be taken into consideration. Additionally, my wife is 68 years old, and Im 71 (72 in August). Going up and down the stairs to the basem*nt isnt something we should be doing, especially to find an inoperable washing machine.

She was also told it was her mother board. Service call price $125, quote to purchase, replace and install thermostat $550. Almost $700. Big mistake buying Maytag- who knew? But never again! We are quite angry and very disappointed with the mediocre performance of this product.

We have had to have the washer repaired several times in that two years, most recently for a cracked mother board controller unit. The same day we had to have the washer repaired, we also had to have the dryer repaired. Lint and dust is not properly filtered out by the filter and accumulates inside the dryer where it should not be, up against the gas heating unit. The repairman indicated that it was badly scorched and that we were lucky it had not caught on fire. Another customer of his had the same unit, which burst into flames one day when she had left the house with the dryer going, causing a house fire. The quality of these items is highly questionable. Having to spend nearly $600 to replace a cracked mother board only two years after purchase simply is unacceptable.

However, in September, 2014 (2 months out of warranty!!), the control panel stopped working. I called the 800 number and the best they could do is to extend the warranty for 6 months BUT only after we paid for repair and control board replacement. This is not cheap!!! We were furious. I looked if there were recalls on this model but there is not (should be). Anyway, after we paid for repairs and a new control panel put in ($160.00 +- for part itself), we were very cautious about touching anything on that dishwasher. YOU HAVE an issue with design and I can give you link after link of other customers who have expressed the same thing. So, here we are in 2017... About 2 months ago, we noticed the exact same symptoms with the control board.In fact the ONLY way we could start the dishwasher was to turn off the breaker, let it sit for 20 minutes - overnight and then turn back on and hit the start button. We lost all control over the settings. Only auto clean and delay 2 hours were working. Yesterday, I purchased yet another control board ($179 incl tax and shipping). I plan to install myself. If I could afford another dishwasher, I would do it and never buy Maytag again. Maytag really ought to be ashamed and if they were truly concerned they would offer these defective parts at a steep discount or better yet, recall. I plan on submitting something about this issue with any consumer group I can find. I guess the only way to spread the word and perhaps force a company to respond is to post on social media anymore. But refrigerator is the worst. According to my service man, Maytag is aware of known issue with poor quality evaporator coils that erode quickly, leaking freon. Causes problems with ice buildup in freezer, poor ice production until it loses enough freon to stop chilling correctly causing food spoilage. Im to that point now. This fridge is only good for offshore fishing site. Whirlpool is aware but will stall as long as possible, then refuse replacement, but they will offer to help you replace the appliance. HA! Fool me once, shame on you. Twice, shame on me.

Sure it is a high efficiency machine that saves on water -- the clothes are often still dry when the complete cycle is finished. Many times there is still soap residue on the clothes. Forget cleaning anything with any amount of dirt on it because it seems as though items are even more filthy after washing them. I have tried everything the company advised and still my clothes are not clean. My advice... please do not purchase this machine. Thank goodness I purchased a policy which covered the repair that had to be done twice--twice I lost food. I was compensated by the insurance company for $200.00 for the cost of food lost. Just before Christmas my microwave stopped heating. The turntable works, the timer works, but it will not heat the food and makes a loud noise. The glass top on my stove is getting marred even though I clean it every time something spills. I keep my appliances in immaculate condition and they look like new. I thought when I purchased Maytag I was buying reliable appliances. Their ad that states that the Maytag repairman is lonesome because he has no work is a lot of bull. Each appliance has had problems. Where is consumer protection? Appliances should not breakdown after a couple of years. We should not have to buy insurance policies that are expensive to protect appliances that should last at least ten years without problems. Someone needs to step in and help the consumer. My newest Maytag is 1 year and 2 months old and Ive had two service calls so far due to the sensor unlocking the door. One time there were some socks caught “somewhere” and today the serviceman just reset the machine and it worked. He didnt know why it wouldnt work. It seems to me there needs to be some more detailed trials on these computer-operated machines. If I need another washer, it will most likely not be a Maytag.

Maytag Top-loading washer MVWP475EWO - I just want to comment on how engineers have made our washing machines worse instead of better. I had to replace my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine - and did try a new one of that brand, but had the dealer take it back. It had so little water when it ran and was a piece of junk. Anyway, replaced it with the Maytag and it too has the water saving feature (which I understand all of them do) but I have to put it on the bulky setting all the time to even get the water to at least cover the clothes. The clothes just barely, if at all, actually move! They sort of rotate a little at a very slow speed. Boy, maybe this was the time to try a front loader so the clothes at least moved a little in the machine! I am so disappointed in how all the machines are manufactured now. One dealer told me I would like the Speed Queen, but it would take five weeks to get one. Thought this Maytag might do the trick, but now Im stuck with it anyway. It does not spin the clothes out nearly so well as my old Cabrio did. The clothes are pretty wet! So, another fine engineering feature. I wish the engineers would be the ones that actually did some laundry so they would see how bad the machines are. My daughter has three young boys and theres no way this would clean the clothes for her. I told her she should be glad her machine is still working. The dealer was very nice about it when I returned the other one, but it seems all the machines arent really made to clean clothes anymore.

She arranged to have a technician come out to our house and assess the installation. He found nothing wrong and Maytag replaced the control panel for free. The technician has seen numerous faulty electronic control panels, and not just with Maytag. He would not recommend a preferred make or model. He longed for the old mechanical timer switches, which we could no longer find in the newer models. With enough customer complaints maybe they will do something about the electronic control panel in the future.

I bought a Maytag laundry set (washer and dryer, models MVWC565FW and MEDC555DW, respectively), and I concur with the fact that this is the WORST laundry set I have ever owned. The clothes came out of the washer extremely dry and did not come out as clean as expected. In addition, clothes came out with strange spots, especially the dark ones. Now, we wash our dark clothes with fear of damage them. The dryer is also pathetic. I put in a normal load on high for 60 minutes, and theyre still very damp. Sometimes I have to repeat the cycle 2 or 3 times. When I compare it with my old laundry set, this is extremely disappointing. And to make things worse, the customer service department doesnt answer you. I sent them a mail, on February 2018, and a month and a half later, I havent heard back from them.

The door on the washer would not open and 2 error codes were displayed. I was trying to add another piece of laundry and the washer had just started. I canceled the load, waited for the door lock light to go out, but the door would not open. The error codes began displaying E3 and F5. I immediately went to the Maytag website for a resolution. The suggestions did not work and was instructed to obtain service if they did not. I called for a service call for $35, but was told that the repair would be over $300 for parts and that was not including labor. The parts I needed were a control panel and a part for the door lock. This was not a Maytag Company service tech and he told me that this happens because the parts are plastic. Currently, besides a Maytag Washer & Dryer I have a microwave, stove, and dishwasher that are also Maytag. When I replace these appliances, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG PRODUCT. I expect the quality and life of an appliance to be more than 2 years, without buying an extended warranty. When I told a friend what had happened with my Maytag Washer, she told me that she had a Maytag Washer broke down with a control panel problem, and she couldnt remember the other part. She informed me that her repair was over $500.

Echoing the sentiments of others on this site, I am deeply disappointed in Maytag brand appliances manufactured by the Whirlpool Corp. When, for the first time in my life, I was able to buy all brand new kitchen appliances, I didnt even consider any other brand but Maytag. This was based on many decades of using Maytag products and watching my mother use them. I come from a big family so our appliances got used hard, and the Maytag brand ones worked year after year, decade after decade with little or no maintenance. To put it quite frankly, my new Maytag products are junk. I could supply a whole laundry list of problems but, in the interest of space, will just tell about the latest. A couple of weeks ago the fake tin foil paint on my oven and burner knobs just started falling off, revealing cheap plastic underneath. When I called Maytag to complain, I was asked how I clean the knobs. I told them that when I clean the stove front I remove the knobs and drop them in warm water with a couple drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid for the few minutes it takes to clean and polish the stove front, and that I had been using this same procedure for 2 years. The rep. hemmed and hawed awhile and then went away to consult her database. When she returned she told me that one is not allowed to soak the knobs per the manual, and therefore she could not offer any help. She then generously offered to transfer me to the parts department, where the rep. informed me that replacements would cost $70 EACH, thats a total of $350 plus shipping for 5 cheap plastic knobs. WOW! What a deal! I tell everyone I meet NOT to buy any Maytag branded product, and to apply extreme skepticism before considering any Whirlpool product. (BTW - the last certified Maytag appliance repairman to come & fix one of the appliances essentially admitted they are junk.) Model #: MGR8775AS SN: R32810432.

He replied there is no guarantee but we still have to pay to try... The washer failed to work shortly after that. It had error codes that Maytag could not give me information about. These were both higher grade commercial units. We hoped they would last longer than 3 years without having major repairs. We also have had to install two lid switches for the washer in that same time span. Quality has been very poor and customer service has been worse. I will never buy another one of their products again.

When the motor went out in our 15 year old Washing machine I considered replacing the motor, which is well within my capability. I am a journeyman industrial machine repairman formerly with Ford Motor car company before retirement.Instead, my wife and I bought a Maytag top loader high efficiency washer from Best Buy. I was skeptical when I examined the new machine with paddles instead of the agitator. Trusting that Maytag had engineered a water saving washer using paddles, I made the very poor decision to buy it. I regret not replacing the motor in my old machine. Boy was I wrong. Given the chance I would trade my new machine for the old in a heartbeat...The old machine washed everything we could throw at it. The new machine wont wash anything to my satisfaction. The bedding deep fill cycle is the only one capable of a passable job. Even then I would like a soak cycle which, in my opinion, would vastly improve results. In all I would characterize this as a total engineering failure. Why Maytag would allow this POS to be sold, where the reputation of Maytag is totally destroyed, is beyond my comprehension.

By August 2014, just after the warranty expired, the front panel gave out. To have someone even look at it cost $150. By following instructions from internet discussion groups by other people facing similar issues, we were able to get it to run in random mode. Programs were no longer indicated or selectable but dishes generally still got cleaned. Two months later a wheel fell off the premium rack glides. Finally after about 2 years of use, the dishwasher finally gave up altogether. At this point the stainless steel tub is no longer stainless. The entire device has worn poorly and looks shoddily made. This is the worst use of $900 I have ever made, and what tweaks me the most is Maytags attitude and their ludicrous warranty that barely lasts out the weakest link in the device.

Now we are having issues with the lid lock not allowing you to get to the clothes. This machine tries to spin three times and then locks up. It literally locks the lid and will not allow you to get to your clothes! For a machine to fail just four months out of warranty is a joke! I paid a lot of money for this washer, expected it to last more than less than a little than three years and I think its terrible. Its only 2 years old and it sounds like - what others have said, like a B52 taking off (during the spin cycle). I dont have rust spots inside of the machine or out so Im not sure what the issue is but I really dont want to invest in a couple hundred of dollars to this thing. It stinks, doesnt clean well and now this! VERY disappointed...VERY. As a single mom, the thought of finding money to replace something that is new just disgusts me! I have two major issues with my stove. First is that you have to press enter after setting an oven temperature and it doesn’t even beep to remind you before just cutting off. Older, forgetful people like me have probably prepared countless dishes for the oven only to find that it is not preheated. The second is that if you turn on the timer, it cuts off the oven. You only make that mistake once before writing the timer off as useless. I have a hard time believing that they ran either of these by anyone who cooks! One other mixed feature, the heating element for the oven is below the floor of the oven. This causes it to preheat slower - which compounds problem #1 - but makes cleaning a breeze.

The repairman had to replace the computer panel. He said it had burned up. I bought this machine from Lowes on January 11, 2011. It lasted 15 months and cost me $265 to get it repaired. I called Lowes and because I did not buy the extended warranty, they would not even talk to me. When I pay about $500 for a washing machine, I expect it to last longer than 15 months! I will never buy another Maytag appliance! Customers beware: these products are a bunch of junk. Even the repairman told me so.

Maytag Glass top model #MER8600DHO. I bought it because it got good consumer reviews. This is supposed to be a self clean oven but the steam system in this model is not very effective. It doesnt clean the oven. Would never buy a range again with this oven cleaning system. I wanted to try a glass top stove but wish I hadnt. It is harder to clean and the glass scratches. I really dont like the self clean oven system in this stove - it flat out doesnt work and it takes a lot of elbow grease to clean the oven. The oven however seems true to temperature and does a good job. Overall I am Ok with this stove but wouldnt purchase a glass top again.

We purchased a $500.00 Maytag dishwasher, Model #MDB7749SBW, in August 2013. In December 2014, a little over a year of owning it, the pump failed. We called Maytag and they had a service company come out and replace it. We paid $181.00 for this service call. In July 2015, the control panel failed so we called Maytag to see if they would replace it at their cost. All they are willing to do is to send another service guy out at our expense. The service call is $89.95 and that doesnt include the labor! The total with tax will be close to $200.00 again!!! Now we are getting close to spending $1,000 for this piece of junk! In addition, this dishwasher is only used three times a week because there are only two people living in our household. It is obvious after reading the other complaints that the control panels are defective and I am sure that Maytag is well aware of this issue. So, buyer beware. Dont even consider purchasing a Maytag dishwasher unless you enjoy watching your money flush down the toilet. They dont even deserve a 1 star rating!!!

We purchased the Bravos XL Washer (top loader) and dryer about a year ago and have had issues with it since it was installed. Please note, we live between two homes so the machines are not heavily used at all. Our $250 machine we have in our Florida home works a million times better and is several years old. We purchased at the ABC appliance store and they have sent out a technician 4 times in the first few months. Bottom line, these are just pieces of crap machines. They cannot be returned! It is really a shame for the money spent and your clothes does not get clean on any cycle. The technician told us we should use the Deep water wash for all cycles which still does not work. I bought this machine for the XL capacity but also for the delicate cycle and stains do not come out, undergarments are still dirty, white power residue from OXI is left on the clothes etc... DO NOT BUY. This would get zero stars if I could. So disappointing and frustrating. If class action suit does happen, I would want to be part if it.

I bought the 2 year extended warranty, went down to the pool house (which has central heat and air) and the compressor has gone out again! The results leaving my baseboards molded! My warranty went out 3/17/2015 and Maytag is helping NONE! The only thing they have to say is you can buy a new repair one warranty for $363 to repair for one year. Bought a MDB7601AWW, and then replaced front panel to stainless. Configuration options are great (can’t find better at cost up to $1,200.00)! I haven’t had an issue with any stains on non-stainless tub. Problem is now control panel failing for second time. After 1st time, sealed all connections in silicone to prevent steam from affecting it, as recommended on DIY video. I just replaced the door latch, thinking that may solve it, but hard to troubleshoot without any indicator lights. This second failure (2 yrs later) shows no indication that steam or water caused it. It does start now, stuck on heavy wash, heated dry, sanitize - per top lights. Front lights totally out. Debating whether to buy a new dishwasher ($$$) and give up super config (hard to find fold-down tines and fold-down small shelves on upper and lower racks, clips for small items, and basket that can be changed, placed anywhere) or spend at least $162 for the panel AGAIN and hope I get another 2 years from that while trusting that some other element doesn’t go out. I believe Maytag should, at minimum, make the panel reasonably priced by offering a rebate, since the part is not sold directly through them. Obviously this problem is a design flaw. I am the only one in the house, so the dishwasher is not under heavy use. At least I found how to replace it myself on YouTube, though it requires the door to be completely taken apart and would be easier with an extra set of hands and a younger back. Hard decision since it seems newer, expensive appliances have problems as well. If I buy new, I will not hesitate to get an extended warranty (1st time ever).

To use good quality detergent and to make sure the clothes are neatly arrange around the drums walls. Nothing works. My clothes dont get clean because they dont get wet. Theres lots of residuals and wrinkles all over them. Also, the machine takes way too long to finish a load of clothes. I did tried to return it, but Conns wouldnt take it back. I went through the manual and tried everything it recommended but it didnt work. So far the unit still cleans dishes. This is about my model MFI2569VEB2 refrigerator. It has French doors with bottom pull-out freezer, refrigerator door ice and filtered water dispenser. The delivery person installed the fridge and took off outside plastic and left inside plastic in. It froze everything until I took out the inside plastic. Within the first year, water started shooting out of the top of the fridge. A rubber connector for the icemaker, which was on top of the fridge, had broken. Within 18 months, it freezes everything in the refrigerator, even on the warmest setting. I have to leave it unplugged each night. The icemaker gets big chunks of ice stuck to it and wont let ice out. On top of all of that, the water from the fridge door pours out extremely slowly, this just how they are built.I will have to fix the thing myself and eat the expenses, so to speak. I bought the Maytag because Samsung had poor reviews. No matter how fancy you want your refrigerator to be, and how nice you want it to look in your kitchen, stick to the basics. The fewer bells and whistles, the more reliable.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL at the end of June 2013 because my washer of 14 years finally quit. On the 2nd load of laundry I ran, the machine began making a terrible grinding noise. It sounds as if I am washing a load of rocks while its on the wash cycle. I immediately called the local store I purchased it from and they sent a technician out to look at the machine. He couldnt figure out why it was making this noise, so he called Maytags techs for assistance. They had him run a battery of tests and they finally determined they needed to replace the motor.
