I bought this Maytag French door model MFF2258VEW2 in 2010. Within the first year, it was freezing my vegetables. They sent someone out to fix it. Thank goodness it was under warranty. The man laid the bill down and it was over $800 to fix it. Six months later, it froze up. I called and they said they would send someone out, but I would have to pay for it. Im on disability and cant pay that kind of money. I got someone to come out and fix it. Well, guess what? It has started freezing my vegetables again. This is the third time this thing has gone bad. What do these people think they are doing putting things out like this? I had a Maytag for 30 years and never had any problem with it. So I saved and saved to get me a new one but I will never buy another Maytag. The company should have to replace all the refrigerators that are like this one.

This machine (Maytag Bravos XL) was in our new house and is relatively new. It is the worse machine I have ever owned. I am 58 and cant reach the bottom of the tub to get clothes out. It doesnt fill with enough water to clean the clothes, and repeatedly I have my clothes coming out dirty. I have had to rewash clothes to get them clean at all. Or they come out with grime all over them. I had both a LG and Samsung front loaders in the past, if I could afford it I would throw this Maytag out on the curb! Its a piece of junk.

A refrigerator has to keep your food at constant temperature. The first Maytag refrigerator I purchased from Home Depot could not get cold. I mean the refrigerator never got below 65 degrees. I called Maytag and they played dumb. Just wait weeks for a repairman to check a brand new product that is not working. Home Depot replaced it in few days with another refrigerator of the same model. It runs but doesnt get really cold (it only has a fan in the freezer and the air comes down from the freezer to cool the refrigerator). I live with it because all you will get out of Maytag/Whirlpool is to turn the dial to a colder temp. A little over a year passes and the fan in the freezer just stops running. I called a local certified service person. He looks at the fan and says that its running but barely. I had to replace the motor at cost with labor of around 200 dollars. I kept the motor. Turns out the motor is made by Panasonic. The current replacement motor is made in Mexico. Now the refrigerator runs cold. Since I had two of these refrigerators that failed to get/stay cold, I think they got a bad batch of motors. Maytag response was to refuse to pay a dime, it is outside of the warranty - even though I had called about the refrigerator not getting real cold on the second refrigerator. So basically I lived with food being kept at a way too high of temp causing spoilage for a year and Maytag/Whirlpool could care less, they are only worried about their bottom line.That is not the only problem with their product. The drain pan grows a mold that looks like pudding. The only way to clean it is to pull the refrigerator out, take off the motor area cover (which is really cheap cardboard) and clean it out with a rag. There is no way to remove the pan. The compressor is mounted so low that it heats up the floor. I have concrete floors thus I have no fire risk but if you have wood floors, I would check the heat level. It is nearly impossible to clean the dust off the fins on the refrigerator coolant lines. The back of the freezer door shelves are metal and very sharp on the back. Thus if you stick your hand in to pick something up, you will get a nasty cut.I have owned only Maytag, Whirlpool and Amana products my entire life. I will never purchase their products again. They may pretend that you are buying an American product (they use the American flag) but this product is nothing but OEM garbage made by the lowest bidder. They try to sell you an extended warranty for around 300 bucks for an addition 3 years. I figured if the fridge went bad after 3 years, I would just buy a new one. I never expected a motor to fail less than a year (I would say it started going bad about 6 months into ownership as started making ice at a lower rate). Maytag refuses to stand behind their products. When I told them I had the motor that failed, they had no interest in even looking at it. Do not waste your money on their products. I also own a Maytag washer that is the worst washer I have ever owned.

Purchased a Maytag Centennial top load washer that will not fill with enough water to wash clothes. The washer was purchased from Lowes on August 17, 2016 and we tried to return but Lowes refused because we were passed the required 30 day return period. We contacted the Maytag company and they sent out service people who reported that there was nothing we could do other than wash small loads. The company also reported that if we tried any of the solutions on the web we would violate our Warranty. Since we find ourselves in this spot (we should have read all the bad reviews here before the purchase) we have decided to place the machine in a very visible spot across from a new 100 store shopping center on a truck with a 4x8 sign warning the public not to purchase this product.

Ive been a Maytag consumer since 1980. I bought washer, dryer, refrigerator and a smooth top oven. I replaced the washer and dryer with the Bravos series on November 22, 2011. Everything was fine until 6 weeks ago. The bearing went bad under the drum. 2 techs and 2 weeks later, at the cost of $527 and change spent on repair for a $650.00 machine, I started to look into reviews. Not! Can you say class action lawsuit! The fine gentlemen informed me 5 years ago about the Canada buyout, a local retailer that only sold Maytags. He shut his doors due to the fact that he will not work on junk! Oh well, he was right. 13 months worth of use and Im going to spend that kind of money. Now I understand why the repairman in the commercials retired! Shame on you. Love, crazy Mike.

I have always stored clean dishtowels and oven mitts in the storage drawer of my ovens (for over 50 years). I bought a new Maytag (2 days old) and was cooking in the oven tonight. I opened the drawer to get a mitt and it was on fire!! I am shocked. How dangerous is that! I looked over the manual and there is nothing that says towels cannot be stored in the drawer. It was literally on fire. I emptied the contents of the drawer into the sink. Has anyone else had this problem?

We have to clean up puddles of water at least 3 or 4 times a day. I see that this is not an isolated problem, as others have complained about this defect doing the same thing with their Maytag refs. Within the first 2 years, the dryer stopped heating. After a $300, a few parts and a few attempts to repair the dryer worked again. The sensor still kept saying check the vent and we gave up and removed the outside vent cover. Works great now. The washer worked great until year 4 when it began to sound like a helicopter. It got so bad that it literally hurt my ears and could be heard outside. It also leaked. Called repairman and they couldnt even remove the drum because it had rusted solid. After a total of 4 years we are replacing the set. Do not WASTE your money!

This oven has been used so very seldom that I didnt feel I could rate it until now. We use the oven 1-2 times a week since purchasing it in March of 2018. There hadnt been any reason to use the Self Cleaning part of the oven until last week. I have had a oven with self-cleaning for 20 years and the oven went out so we purchased this one because of its sleek look and features. However last week I decided to use the self-cleaning setting on it and came home after being gone all day to find that the house smelled like it had a fire burning in it. I ran to the oven to find the whole inside cover in a white powdery substance. It looked like a snow blizzard had gone on inside of it. I was use to a small amount of white residue being inside the oven after it finished and it just wiped right up. We spent hours vacuuming it out then scrubbing it down with vinegar water and a sponge with a scouring pad on it. The casserole spill was still on the bottom, most of the enamel is gone and the glass will not clean off. I did not use any chemicals in the oven prior to turning it to the self-clean mode, I believe that it overheated and burnt the enamel off and distorted the glass. Whirlpool offered to send me a cleaning kit. I told them that would do no good. I had already scrubbed and used a razor blade to try and clean the bottom and the glass and them sending me different cleaning supplies would not fix the fact that 80% of the inside protective coating on the oven is gone. Now it is a porous surface. A Serviceman was scheduled and he called prior to arrival today and asked me to explain what was going on with my oven. I explained and he said I can almost guarantee that Whirlpool will say that it is cosmetic and they only cover cosmetic for 3 months and that I will have to pay for a $100.00 service call. This is a load of crap. This coating is part of the oven to keep it clean and protect the metal from the high heat of baking in it. This is not cosmetic feature like the outside stainless steel finish or the black trim decor. The inside doesnt look pretty. It is a function. See the photos below. Whirlpool Range Item # 805150. I purchased an emerald green washing and dryer (MHW4200BW) by Maytag. Unfortunately, my washing machine broke and I bought the extended warranty. After many visits from the repair company, it was determined that one of the parts needed was on back order indefinitely. Maytag decided that they would replace the washing machine. Sounds like a fair and good deal, however, the washing machine that they are going to replace my unit with is of a different color. Apparently someone in upper management at Maytag made a business decision to stop selling this particular color unit with little to no regards to the customers that had already purchase their product in that color. Had I known that they were going to discontinue the color, then I would have stuck with a standard color like white. At least I would not be faced with having a mismatch unit now because Maytag will not replace both units. To make matters worse, my washing machine and dryer is on the first floor right off my kitchen. It is not stuck in the basem*nt way from company, etc. I am so disappointed in Maytag and their lack of consideration for their customers.

Do not buy a Maytag dishwasher with model # MDBH969AWB1. I bought this dishwasher last Dec. 2010. I could not use it for 2 weeks, because the door would not shut. The repair man came & fixed the door. Then when I actually got to use it and after it finished running the cycle, the tub was dripping with water all over--top, sides, door, bottom. I had to dry the dishes on the top rack, and I had to leave the door open for days in order for the inside to eventually get dry. The first thing I noticed about this dishwasher when it was installed was that it was smaller than my other dishwasher. I hate the design because of the way they have made the racks plus because it is smaller--it holds less dishes than my old one did. I could actually get almost twice as many dishes in my old one than I can with this one. Do they not think of asking the consumer about what they want in a dishwasher instead of going ahead and making something that is not functional?I am so frustrated with this thing; it has brought me to tears. I just today went to Sears and looked at their Kenmore dishwasher. It is designed more like my old one than any of the other makes out today. I wish I had checked this out, before I bought this Maytag. Weve always heard how Maytag is at the top of the line with no problems, right? Dont believe it. I will never buy another one. Whoever is designing these dishwashers need to go back to 1990 and take a look at how it was designed and then go back to making them like that. I loved my older dishwasher, and I wish I had never let them take it away. I wish I had taken the money I spent on this ridiculous Maytag and had my old one fixed no matter what the cost. I made a terrible mistake.If you have an older dishwasher and it has given you good service for years, I suggest you have it fixed and keep it, because you will not like the performance of what they are selling today. It does not matter what brand you buy, they are all designed the same. Just take a look and compare them. But if you buy, please check out the Kenmore. I dont know if the performance is better, but the racks are better designed. My old dishwasher was a Hotpoint. It was the cheapest one on the market, and it gave me the most wonderful service ever. The dishes were always very clean, the heating element was fantastic, and it always dried the dishes completely. I cant believe they would make a product like they do today and sell them for what they do. The heating element in them today is not as good or strong as what they used to make. That is why the dishes wont dry properly. You get way less than what you pay for. Thinking a new dishwasher is the way to go, think again. Please, if at all possible, keep your old one and have it fixed over & over again. I hate this dishwasher. What a joke on the unsuspecting buyer.

Maytag has replaced the top three times and the burner once. The top has gone bad again and they are calling this a cosmetic now and will not replace the top. Ive looked at estimates online of $450.00 for parts and labor. Customer service is no help at all, nothing they can do. She actually recommended KitchenAid for our next appliance. Maytag has become a terrible brand. We will never buy from them again. By the way, they also made our Jenn Air Oven, which turned itself on a number of times while we were away. 350 degrees. That was a total loss as well. We are filling up landfills with our Maytag/Whirlpool appliances and you will too.

Then a week ago got it to light, used the oven and tried to turn it off and it would go off but immediately light up again. Scary to say the least. Another call to service. They are coming tomorrow. The washer took FOREVER to fill and to complete a basic load took literally an hour or more. Then within the next 7 months it stopped spinning out the final spin cycle. Spin light would flash as would lid lock but wouldn’t spin the water so I had to manually unplug the machine then plug in out cycle on drain and spin and that worked 50 percent of the time. Repairman came out and said could be a number of issues but he said honestly it would cost me a lot less to just go buy a new washer! This is INSANE! I grew up with the Maytag repairman commercials and thought Maytag was still top of the line but LEMME TELL YA, IT AINT! We purchased this set 6 months ago. The store we purchased it from is unwilling to help us. Maytag insists there is nothing wrong with the washing machine. The machine doesnt clean the clothes. After a wash cycle there is pet fur and lint all over the clothes, even after it comes out of the dryer. The clothes are all twisted in tight knots when the load is done. The washing Machine doesnt dispense enough water to wash. I have taken clothes out of the washer and the items are dry in spots, most times you can smell the mustiness of a dish towel after its been washed.I used the steam clean dryer to fresh in up the curtains and the panels came out different lengths. Not eager to try that feature again. This is our 2nd dryer set purchase, the last set was 10 yrs old. I couldnt find anyone willing to repair it. I was told they dont make machines like they used to and they are all designed to last 10 yrs and you’re lucky if it lasts 15 yrs. Yes, we contacted Maytag and yes, like the many other folks who have shared their stories we also got the run around. Sad to say we are going to do our research and will be looking for a new machine. Im going to shamefully donate the set to a charitable organization and use the receipt as a tax write off. IF you’re doing your research, DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG.

On December 22, 2013 I purchased a Maytag front loading washer Model # MHWEE201YW00 from The Home Depot. On July 28 the bearing failed and greased my clothes and rendered the washer unusable. On August 1st I contacted the Maytag Customer Service Line; the wait for contact was approximately 20 minutes, not a very good answer time and unfortunately the best I would receive during this process. Despite the wait, I received good response and had a service call set up for Wednesday August 6th.On Wednesday August 6th, a service technician from Quaker City Appliances took a look at our washer and determined that the bearings had failed and that the entire drum assembly would need to be replaced. He stated that anytime the bearings fail this soon, it typically means that the bearings weren’t pressed properly or the drum wasn’t tightened enough and that he would order the parts as soon as he got back to the office.On Friday August 8th, a representative from Quaker City Appliances called and notified us that the part was no longer available and instructed my wife to call Whirlpool Customer Service and give them this number **, to coordinate a replacement washer. I called later that afternoon and spent over an hour waiting and was transferred between departments. The first representative was very cordial and professional; the second who I believe was from the Tech-line was anything but. In my career I have held responsibility for customer service and while there are many golden rules, one of the most important was never to tell the customer “I can’t”, well Cheyenne (I believe that was her name) couldn’t help me with anything and clearly told me so. She explained that my problem was referred to the Trade Partners and I needed to call back to Quaker City Appliances on Monday.On Monday August 11th, I called Quaker City Appliances, who promptly informed me that the matter was turned over to Whirlpool and I need to contact them as there was nothing else that could be done. Later that day I called back to customer service, again waiting between two representatives at least an hour. I was informed that my matter was with the Trade Partners and that I will need to wait one to two days for a phone call. A phone call that never came…..Yesterday August 14th, I contacted Whirlpool customer service, again waiting over twenty-five minutes for the first contact, and then was eventually handed over to the tech line and another wait. Eventually, I spoke to a very pleasant representative who gave me the Trade Partner number and transferred me, unfortunately I was disconnected. I called back and found out that the office closed at 5:00. Today I called the Trade Partner line (1-800-874-4698) at about 3:30 and after 40 minutes I have given up and decided to write this letter. All I want is a functioning washing machine.

My fiancee and I purchased a Maytag washing machine from our local Sears. We got it home and it worked fine, but after the first month it wasnt switching over from cycle to cycle. We called Sears and they stated that they didnt provide service to the washing machines, so we would have to call Maytag. We called Maytag and they sent servicemen from B & B Appliance to our home. We were told that they needed to order a piece and would be back at another time to fix the washing machine. They came back and said it was fixed. I went to start a load of laundry the following morning and the basem*nt flooded. The hose had become dislodged when they were working on it. To add insult to injury, the washing machine was still broken. I called Maytag to request a different service company come to our home. Maytag said that they couldnt send a different company. They also couldnt replace our still broken washing machine and they could not accept a return. At this point we are out an almost $800 for the washing machine, over $5000 (which we have submitted to insurance) for the damage to our home, and almost $600 for a WORKING washing machine that was a different brand. We will never use Maytag ever again.

Not only do you have to wait almost an hour to get a hold of their customer service I got hung up on once after waiting that long and the a Customer Service Lead by the name of Brittany couldnt offer any help either. We have been without our washer for almost a month now and will have to wait another couple weeks for the part to come in on top of probably another week for a maintenance person to come out and repair. I asked to expedite the part but that went absolutely nowhere. It actually added time to get the part because it was suppose to be here on the 13th but now its up to 9 business days for that to happen. I would stay away from purchasing any appliance from Maytag with the experience we have gone through and terrible customer service as well.

We have had the same problem as everyone else. We have the freezer on the bottom model. It started when the fridge was less than a year old, with water on the floor and ice buildup on the bottom of the freezer. Since then we have needed to have same repairman come at least 4 times because the top part suddenly gets very warm, food spoils, and water accumulates under the produce drawers. Our repairman has told us that newer models have improved design, but that doesnt help us. This fridge is now about 3 years old, bought it at Home Depot. This is unacceptable.

6 week old High Efficiency Washer leaves lint and soap lines. Ive tried deep water wash plus the 2 rinse settings and I still have to wash the load twice to get rid of the lint lines and soap lines. Ive also tried every combination of settings to no avail and I follow the guide to a tee because this machine actually weighs the clothes to determine the water level. Maytag customer service was polite but useless. Im assuming its the poor design but customer service says I will be charge for the warranty service call if no problem is found. Maytag, another fine company down the drain. PS, parts are made in China.

Our appliance store replaced it. They charged us for the part but not for a service call. Its been two years since the new control panel was replaced and it just stopped working. Now, we have to pay $275.00 for the new part and service call. My previous dishwasher lasted twenty years and we never had a problem. I thought Maytag was a quality product. Sadly mistaken!!

This washing machine just sprinkles water on your clothes then ties them up in knots. And to add insult to injury, needs repairing every year or so. Horrible! It does have a couple of redeeming qualities, but they definitely dont outweigh the cons. It spins the clothes quite dry and has a large capacity. I have dogs and kids who play football and a husband who does construction, and its not unusual to find lumps of dirt and fur trapped in an article of clothing or blanket. All my bras and sweaters get ruined, it twists them up horribly. The blankets and sheets end up in a mushroom shape. Sad to say, NOT good. I like Maytag, but not BRAVOS.

About two months ago I noticed the dishwasher started to glitch here and there, but was still functional. I removed the panel and found that the wiring was completely corroded and would need to be replaced. I put everything back together and have managed to make it almost a month on the same cable. In the mean time, I searched for my receipts, my manuals, and anything else to show my purchase given the 10 YEAR WARRANTY Maytag wants to mention as a sale point. Aside from Home Depot not being able to find my order information to duplicate the receipt, I managed to find where I had ordered my set online and was emailed a copy. Home depot is not involved with the warranty process, unless you purchase the additional warranty. They deferred me to Maytag. I contacted Maytag and was informed that the warranty only covers the stainless internal tub, the racks, and the chopper. Seriously?? So, absolutely NOTHING mechanical about the product past one year.After paying the $699 for the washer, and another 57.99 for installation and kit, I was told by Maytag that I could buy another 1 year warranty that would cover the part, but it would cost me $289, or roughly half the price I paid to get a whole two years out of the dishwasher in the first place. This means I might as well be paying almost $300 a year just to have this product... ridiculous!! Just to buy the part and do the work myself, the part is $172 plus tax/shipping. Since it is only 4 screws and a couple clips holding this thing on, I am likely going to go that route.I have read many people saying similar things about the electronic wire corroding and this appears to be a well known issue with their products. They recommend sealing the entire area using a tube of silicone to help reduce the amount of time it takes to ruin another cable. Very very very poor craftsmanship. Nice racket they have through charging people so much every couple of years for their products!! As my $4000 kitchen appliance set falls apart, I doubt I will ever replace it with another Maytag item.

We had a Whirlpool dishwasher for 24 years, and when it was time to purchase a new one, I did a lot of research before choosing our Maytag. Reviews by other consumers who had purchased dishwashers was very helpful in making our decision, and we have had no problems in the almost 18 months that we have had this dishwasher. It is very quiet. It washes and dries the dishes with no streaks, although I wash off the dishes before loading them. I have a Maytag purchased about a year ago. My old Maytag lasted 16 years. The salesman told us that they are now built to last 8 years. It’s pretty noisy, so much so that I have to close the door to the utility room. I guess it gets the clothes clean but it used very little water. Fortunately my model has an agitator but nothing like the old kind. After looking at many models, I feel this was the best choice for the value. It is top loading which I like.

We are on our 2nd Bravos XL. The first washer lasted 6 years and there was a part going out that kept making it stop in the process. Basically the repair guy said it will just go out one day so it was up to us to repair or replace the machine. The machine didn’t have an agitator and we had been having issues with white residue on the clothes for a long time but thought it was related to the other part. So we bought a new one, with an agitator. It was the new model. We’ve had it around 6 months and we have lots of issues with the white residue. The only success we have with not getting white residue on darks is using deep fill and very little detergent. We use powder because the liquid makes dark spots on our dark clothes. So either way, there’s a problem. So we are using a lot of water when it’s supposed to be water saving. And we are using much less detergent that the company says. I think it’s the machine that has problems. I’ve read a long thread on Facebook and it appears that Maytag tells you to use Affresh regularly. It also says to follow their instructions. But everyone seems to follow instructions but Maytag takes no responsibility for their product. Makes me sad because Maytag was the best on the market at one time and we will never buy again. Our dryer works fine but the washer sucks. And that was a lot of money that I paid. I hope that Maytag decides to make it right and help their “customers” enjoy their products once again.

The repair company came out and put a new control panel in it. Two months later, the control panel goes out again. The warranty firm sends out a different repair company. They replace the control panel again. This time it doesnt work. They replace some of the buttons as according to the repair person they arent registering the correct OHM reading. It works again. Yay!. A week later, its not working again. The repair company is coming back. This is really starting to get old. Between the multiple times it has broken down, waiting for the repair company to come out, diagnose the problem and order parts, we have been without a dishwasher for approx. 2 months the multiple times it has broken down. Im so fed up with this thing. I also will never ever buy another Maytag again. They need to have a major recall on these because of the terrible, terrible control panel. This isnt just me, its a lot of people.

Just had the repairman here. This machine is computerized so it won’t last. It does not have a setting that lets me do any load of laundry the way I need to do it. I have to use heavy duty to do a load and then it takes 2 hours. When I want to do a load of sweaters on delicate it will not put near enough water in the machine to wash them. The normal cycle does not add enough water to wash, let alone rinse the clothes. I can’t choose the size of the load based on how much I need to wash so I have to do more loads at 2 hours each or do everything on bulky. Whoever came up with all this needs to be fired. I am extremely unhappy with this machine and I have loved Maytag for years. No more.

I have children in the house, and we live in Miami. I said that I would pay for overnight delivery of the part, and they told me it couldnt be done. I called this morning for a tracking number of the part, and they told me that it wasnt sent out as of yet. According to the internet search, this is a problem with a considerable amount of model number MF12568AES, and I should have been notified by the company. A lot of the reviews contain complaints about the Bravos XL MCT top load washer. We purchased one in December, 2015, and so far have not had any problems. We had a 3 yr old Whirlpool side loading washer that we just gave away, as it never got enough water to even dampen a comforter or quilt. This machine works very well, in spite of lower level of water. I was pleasantly surprised when I could see the water level with the first load! The controls are not as intuitive as other machines; e.g. spin only requires you to select Rinse/Spin cycle, and THEN turn OFF extra rinse. Perhaps the proper way is to have a Spin-Only cycle, and then tell the user to click the extra rinse ON. We do probably 1 load a day. Water bill has not been significantly higher than when we had the Whirlpool that hardly used any water. Today, though, a heavy quilt (it WAS distributed evenly around the impeller) was put on Bedding so the water level would be a bit higher to ensure the entire quilt was wet. Fine so far. However, during the Spin Cycle, the unbalance became so violent that the washer stopped for a few seconds and then went BACK to the Rinse cycle. It did this several times before we realized that the time remaining had not gone down in over 30 minutes. My guess was that the sensor believed that maybe some additional water with another Rinse cycle MIGHT even out the load. It didnt. I finally stopped the machine, redistributed the quilt and then ran the Rinse/Spin cycle, choosing NOT to do the extra rinse. All came out fine. There was NOTHING in the manual indicating that this might be needed, except for the instructions to Spin only. If I have any other problems, I will send here.

An appointment for service was made for July 18, service never showed up. Another appointment for August 3 was made and again service never came. I called the 800 number on Aug 19 again arranged service for Aug 24 after hours so that we did not have to take anymore time off work. When repair finally looked at the fridge they said the door was not aligned and did not close so the frost builds up and breaks off onto the floor. This can be fixed with a new door that can take from 6 weeks to 8 months as they are not stocked and have to be made at a factory. The fridge constantly runs and is starting to leak water through to my kitchen floor and basem*nt ceiling tiles.I called Maytag/Whirlpool on Aug 25 and the service agent told me the best they could do for me was extend my original warrant by 6 months while I wait for replacement part and they advised I purchase the extended warranty. The second agent named Gabby I spoke to advised me to call Home Depot where I purchased the fridge to see if they would do something for me. She would write down my concerns but had nothing more to say or do for me since the repair person deemed the unit repairable and a part has been ordered. I called Home Depot on Aug 25 and I spoke to Appliance Dept who told me the manager who could help me was off that day. He advised me to stick weather stripping around the door to seal the leaks. I said I was hesitant to do anything that may void a warranty and he agreed. He suggested I may get a loaner fridge but I have heard nothing yet. I want a replacement fridge.When you pay $2000 for a fridge it should be worry free for at least a year? I have been reading reviews and I am wondering why this is not a recalled appliance as this seems to be a very common problem. I am sad that Whirlpool is not standing behind this product. I tried to diagnose the problem: the washer fills, but when the cycle is supposed to start it just hums. Then you have to drain it. So I think the problem is the motor or capacitor. The parts are stupidly overpriced, and Im not even sure if that is the problem. It could also be the electronics board (Ive heard of the problems with these on this brand). So instead of risking wasted time and parts Im junking this, er, piece of junk. The stainless steel door was rusting on the bottom too. American made crap! Following several calls, all of which resulted in the delivery date being extended to over eight weeks, the same engineer called to install the new motor. He refused to do it as the surrounding paneling had not been removed to give him access to the cabinet. It took another four days for him to return after we called in our builder to remove the panel--three screws and four-minute work. I asked for the warranty to be extended, by way of recognition of Maytags awful service. My request was rejected out of hand and the reasons do not accord with the chronological evidence I hold. I am about to bring a claim in the local County Court.

I have to put them through twice to get the scum off and I have to scrub my whites by hand. So much for your new type washers. If I could find a washer with an agitator and water saver on it, I would buy it in a flash and get rid of this so called newest thing on the market. I have to put a cleaner through it every 2-3 weeks that costs me $10.00 for 3 pucks and having to rewash my clothes does not save water or time. There is a lot to be said for the washers that had water saver on them. First of all, I could open the lid during the wash cycle and add another item. (2) I could use the last of the 2 rinse cycles from my white clothes to start a load of dark clothes, that was truly a water saver and both loads were sparkling clean. Every women that I have discussed these new machines with (both front loaders and top loaders) say that you and other companies that think you have improved wash day for women have definitely not improved it but rather made it a nightmare. Absolutely hate this product. I hasnt given me a moments satisfaction since we spent the $1,000.00.

The agitator wings are not attached at bottom allowing clothing to get caught and as the agitator turns, so does the clothing causing stretching and severe tangling. Poor design compared to the agitator that would rise and fall - those got clothing clean and did not ruin them. I cannot trust this machine to moderately cost clothing for fear of their demise. The lock-down mode is not convenient for those last minute added items. Will not be buying Maytag/Whirlpool ever again when another machine is purchased. This is a piece of rubbish!

Two days later it quit working again I had to have another repairman out and found that the gear shifter had popped off so he put it back on and charged us 85.00. Luckily my husband watched him repair it and knew what to do if it happened again, which it does just about every 2 or 3 loads so I have to pull it out and pop the ring back on. I waste more water than I save with this machine. I have to drain the water so I can move the machine out and start all over because they didnt wash, and that wastes more soap. I would get laundry done cleaner and faster if I beat it against a rock. This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned and I will never buy a high efficiency washer or another Maytag again.

I then read an article indicating there was a class action settlement in California on the same make and model. I called Maytag again and after spending 2.5 hours on the phone I finally reach a person who sent out a service repair person. This person showed me a memo confirming the problem with the board. No recall but... if a customer is persistent they will give you the board. Finally new board installed at no charge.

I am so sorry I purchased this pair - I do like the heavy duty spin, and the dryer does dry (but the door clasp has somehow come loose and stopped working - has to be wiggled into place every time I close the door). The really frustrating part is the low water levels (and even bulky is less than a half a bin of water. I am attaching a photo with two sets of sheets, a towel and three wash cloths). Most cycles only put about two inches of water in the bin - appalling. And the long long long cycles - what is energy-saving about having to do a load twice and using more than an hour for one cycle? I wish I could adjust the water levels. Seriously disappointed in this duo. Sorry I wasted my hard-earned money on it. I was seduced by a pretty exterior.

Variety of load type water temp if it was delicate, bedding, denim and more. I have had it for 5 years and so far no problems. It came with a 10 year warranty.

It has extra pockets for little things and it has plenty of hooks and hangers to use for bigger cycles. Kenmore Dishwasher runs great. Very efficient and cleans the tough stains better than any dishwasher Ive ever used. I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy a dishwasher. Of all the dishwashers I researched at Lowes and Home Depot and Sears and Ace and other local stores, the Maytag was the lowest price with all the features I wanted.

Purchased a Maytag side by side MSB27C2XAM00 in June 2014 to replace a 20 year old Kenmore. After 14 months the fridge stopped keeping things cold in the food compartment and in the freezer. And, the water and ice dispensers stopped working. Called Maytag and they confirmed the fridge was 2 months past the warranty and the best they could do was offer an extended one-year warranty for $325 and set up an appointment. I declined and called a local repair company. They responded promptly and discovered the problem was a bad board. Had to replace the board at a cost of $475 (parts and labor). It was $150 more than the extended warranty but I was already in the hole for $100 service call and I was able to get the fridge repaired on the spot. I had the Kenmore for 20+ years without one repair. Maytag was good for one year and 2 months. Dont know how this company will last with a $2000 product that lasts a year. I can not recommend this product and advise anyone in the market for any appliance to avoid Maytag products.Updated on 11/20/2015: After the board was replaced, the fridge worked but was not keeping either of the side by side compartments cold. They were cool but not cold. Repairman returned. Said it was the compressor which needed to be repaired/replaced. Maytag said the compressor was under a 10 year warranty unlike the other parts of the fridge. Good news, Maytag covered the cost of the part / but bad news that it broke after 14 months of use. However, the service people told me the cost of the compressor was the smallest part of the repair. Labor and service would be costly and Id be better off getting a new fridge with a 5 year warranty contact. After I got over the initial shock of having to toss a 14 month old fridge that cost $1500 and complaining to Maytag, I went to Lowes and found a replacement fridge. This time it was not a Maytag. Moral of the story stay away from Maytag. Dont be fooled by the brand. Avoid them at all costs. And purchase a fridge with a 5yr+ warranty contact!

I have had this washer for a few years now and it is the WORST machine ever. It never gets clothes fully clean as air gets trapped in some items so they stick out above the water. The drum only fills about 1/4 of the way no matter what you are washing. It is always unleveling and you have to constantly re-arrange bed sheets and larger items. I have to first soak larger items before the wash cycle. Nice HE machine. When I purchased this machine the sales person said you can wash 10 bath towels. I read the directions which said make small piles of clothes and I called and told her that after I had purchased the machine. Her reply was oh, I didnt know that. Obviously. This top loader without the agitator cleans great if you only throw in about 10 thong underwear at a time or two pair of jeans.

It doesnt fill properly when I put it on deep full. It tangles my clothes so I have to untwist them when I take them out. It has torn some of my things due to twisting. Most recently, there was a problem with the auto defrost causing us to lose all our food stored. It also caused water damage to our floor. We scheduled maintenance with a contracted company through MayTag. After three scheduled visits, which made me miss 3 and a half days of work resulting in an additional loss of over $300, our refrigerator is still broken and they just want us to schedule another maintenance visit. When calling Maytag customer service we are literally told, “your loss, there is nothing we can do to resolve your issue, we can only continue to send out maintenance.” I am so disappointed in this company, the product, the customer service, maintenance service etc.

It is now the end of August 2011, a month past their factory warranty. The dishwasher did not get my dishes clean, made awful grinding noises and three days ago, it refused to drain and then spewed 50 or more gallons of water all over my kitchen which then leaked into the basem*nt. The repairman charged $85 to tell me that the computer in the control panel had burned out and was not fixable. I think I paid somewhere in the region of $500 for this machine. My last dishwasher lasted about ten years. This is completely unacceptable. In searching the internet, I found hundreds, if not thousands of identical complaints. Clearly, this machine is a lemon and Maytag should be forced to replace it or better yet, refund the money spent to purchase the machine. Plus, pay for my valuable time spent mopping up water, washing dishes by hand, searching the internet for probable cause and potential solutions, waiting for Maytag/Home Depot to respond to my inquiries and a large sum for general annoyance. Maytag had a reputation of reliability (emphasis on had). Theyve got some slick ads but they do not stand behind their products at all. I will never by another Maytag product and I urge you to do the same.

I have had the Maytag Bravos washer since November 2010. This washer does not clean clothes. They are never even submerged in water. Had I known this, I would never have purchased it. The salesman at Sears surely didnt mention it. I remember being disappointed at the fact that there wasnt a washer in the place with an agitator. I am disgusted with the washer and the company. I realized that it has been over 12 months since we purchased it, but most people do not feel the need to investigate what is going on under the lid of their washer. I unfortunately assumed that the washer was going to wash! Silly me. No, it does a little spin spin and a little spritz of water (literally, thats it) and at the end, you are left with funk concentrated in the creases of your twisted up, stinky clothes. No agitator plus no water equals no clean! The smell is awful. Someone else described it best - a mildewy basem*nt.Anyone else who is claiming that their clothes do not stink with this machine are surely being deceived by strong perfumes in their detergent and fabric softener. To get a true idea of what their clothes really smell like, they should wash a few times with a scoop of borax and no fabric softener. Then tell us how they smell. I am convinced that the entire line of HE washers is a sophisticated line of crap! They use such small amounts of detergent because that little bit of water going into it will not get any more soap out, much less sweat, dirt and lots of other nasty stuff. This may not be a big deal to other people, but it is huge to me. We have a small homestead. Our clothes get dirty. We spent several hundred dollars of hard earned money on a name we trusted and they do not care.Every load, every day, I am reminded of this fact and it infuriates me. Im not typically one to write in complaints, but as an American citizen where there is a free market (somewhat), I have an obligation. If a product is really good, the makers deserve my praise. Likewise, if the product is really bad, the makers (and refuses to compensate in any way) deserve my complaint, as do my hardworking fellow Americans shopping around for a new washer. Stay away from Maytag and if at all possible, stay away from HE machines. About a week later found out today part was still back ordered and not available with no ETA. So was told Maytag would replace the unit. So until I find out whether or not they will actually replace it, Im giving one star. Been holding for customer service for over 35 minutes now to verify what I was told. I was sent a notice of recall and when I contacted the Maytag staff in the Recall department said that they were sending out a replacement as the unit. Mine was being recalled due to defects in the heater element, which could cause electrical failure and fire. I was pleased they were offering to replace the unit, and within a week or so, a new unit was delivered. This is where the troubles began... the delivery/install person from a local retailer, complained the entire time about having to do this job, was ill-equipped to perform the install, twice he thought he would have to stop as he did not have the correct tools he shared with me. I felt this was odd, if this is the job he did all the time? I asked for a bill of sale or something that would show that this unit had a warranty, and date of install. I was told that in these cases, the local retailer that is contracted to install takes care of all that. I did get the Dishwasher use and care guide, and it seemed like new unit. I had never had a recalled unit of a major appliance. Also since Maytag had my address, phone and email information as they set the install up. I believed the installer. Fast forward to about 2009 and the control panel on the door starts to lose cycles. I decided that since it was just me using the unit and the cycles I used most worked I would not bother with the repair.Fast forward to late October of this year 2015. The dishwasher Maytag model # MDB9601AWW finally does not turn on any longer... I call Sears to have an estimate for repair of the circuit board in the door. I give Sears the model and serial number... and schedule an appointment. The repairman gives me a cost of roughly $600 to replace the circuit board in the door! I tell him no thanks pay $ 59.00 and decide I will buy a new unit... I review many sources such as consumer reports, where it becomes evident that Maytag as a brand is not very reliable. At that point I decide to call Maytag and speak to them about my issues. Two dishwashers in very short order have issues. Also my new unit only had a one year warranty.So much to my surprise when I called Maytag I was informed they did not have any records of my contact information at my current address..? And worse there was a recall on my current dishwasher back in 2010! I was never informed of this, and had used a potentially hazardous appliance for 5 years with no knowledge of this! How could that be though since I was given my current unit by them in 2007. I was very unhappy at this point.... but my disappointment with Maytag was about to deepen.I was also not happy with Sears Home Repair.... They are informed about all product recalls, and had my model and serial number. When those were entered into their computers when I made the appointment and again when the repairman came out and captured that information on my dishwasher himself that should have alerted him to the recall. Not an opportunity to sell me a $ 600 repair that did not even address the defect for the which the recall was issued.So I am now routed to the Maytag recall department.... where all they offer me is a $ 150 coupon for an expensive Maytag dishwasher? The call never came, and two hours later when I called in they tried to tell me it would be another 24-48 hours before she could return my call? I was now very unhappy. I explained again my issues and told Amber that I would like another Maytag Dishwasher to be offered to me..... as this was a very unique set of circ*mstances... She was willing to let me write letters like this and contact the Consumer Products Safety Commission and lodge a complaint. I am waiting to be contacted by the manager that handles recalls from Maytag. She alleged that they CPSC does not allow the Mfg to assign specific compensation to individuals. That is true....when they are only subject to one failure as part of the recall.... according to the woman I spoke with at the CPSC. However I had not only that complaint; but the circuit board issue and as goodwill gesture to any consumer they (CPSC) have no jurisdiction.... and Maytag could do as they wish. However I doubt anyone but Amber a low level manager, who took it upon herself to make this decision on her own, without even punting to her boss Tim when I shared my story. I just this last weekend bought a new Bosch dishwasher.... and would caution anyone who was considering the purchase of any Maytag appliance of any kind to use my experience as a cautionary tale.

I called Maytag Service who said the soonest they could repair it was Nov 12 - 12 days after it broke. Also they said my 10 year warranty didnt apply unless I had proof of purchase. I said I registered my product online when I bought it but they said they had no record. So they had to charge me full cost of service and parts which would be $1000-$1500.I then called LOWES SERVICE ADVANTAGE - I really like Lowes by the way - and they verified my proof of purchase and that in addition to the appliance warranty I have a 5 YEAR mechanical parts repair warranty through LOWES. Thank goodness I purchased the service warranty from LOWES because Maytag was NOT honoring theirs! So then a repair person from FAST APPLIANCE REPAIR INC came to fix the refrigerator and said because it was the compressor he couldnt repair it so I had to wait a few days later for the COMPRESSOR SPECIALIST to come out. The compressor specialist came and said he didnt have any in stock so had to order one.Six days later - Nov 19 - the compressor arrived at my house. I called FAST APPLIANCE REPAIR and asked for someone to schedule an installation. I said Im RETIRED and can do it any time. They said the soonest they could install it is NOVEMBER 28 - ONE MONTH AFTER IT BROKE. So now Ive lost two large drawers of frozen food that spoiled. I have no refrigerator this week for my birthday and for Thanksgiving. I have to wait another 9 days to get it fixed. I am NOT HAPPY. I am sharing this experience so anyone considering buying this or any other MAYTAG product will think very carefully before making their purchase. Also, be sure to buy from Lowes and get the Lowes service plan for any appliance. Ill try to update this if and when my refrigerator gets repaired.
