STOLL,JULIUS, JR., M.D., 87, of Medway Place, Providence, RI, passed away onNovember 9, 2006. He was the husband of Ann (Tyler) Stoll. Born in Rochester, NY, he was a graduate of the University of Rochesterand Syracuse Medical School. He was a Medical Officer in the UnitedStates Navy and served as a Lieutenant in the Pacific during WWII. Hewas a resident at Baltimore City Hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital,Montreal Neurological Institute, and North Carolina Baptist Hospital.He was Surgeon-In-Chief of the Department of Neurological Surgery at RIHospital from 1954 through 1985 and attained the academic title ofClinical Professor Emeritus of Clinical Neuroscience, Brown UniversitySchool of Medicine.
He was Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board of the RI Workers' Compensation Court from 1992 through 2004.
He was a member of numerous medical organizations including the FridayNight Medical Club. He was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the Hope Clubin Providence, and the Dunes Club in Narragansett. He was on the Boardof Directors of the Audubon Society of RI.
Besides his wife,Ann, he is survived by his son, Richard Stoll of Houston, TX, hisdaughter, Margaret Carrol of Boulder, UT, three grandchildren, Gregory,Jessica, and Carolyn Stoll all of Texas. He was the brother of RichardStoll, Jane Angell, and Florentine Brockway, and several nieces andnephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m.in the Chapel of Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Blvd., Providence. Hewill be laid to rest in Swan Point Cemetery. Contributions in hismemory may be made to Audubon Society of R.I. or to the Boy Scouts ofAmerica, Narragansett Council.
