Alex Scott took an opportunity to hilariously mock her sleeping girlfriend Jess Glynne during their trip to Ibiza on Wednesday.

The former Lioness, 39, who is now a sports pundit for the BBC,relaxed by the pool in a green triangle bikini while the singer, 34, took a nap.

Sharing a clip to Instagram, Alex soaked up some sun while sipping on a cold drink, with Jess seen wrapped up in the shade.

Giggling to herself she panned over to the musician and wrote: 'Fast asleep over there!'

In another clip, she zoomed right up to Jess' face and added: She is not going to be happy with me.'

Thepair have been romantically linked since October 2023, after reports emerged they had been dating for months prior.

A source at the time said: 'Alex and Jess have been a slow burn and they didn't want to rush things or go public too soon.'

The getaway comes after Alex has been absent from presenting the Olympic games.

Instead, the likes of Gabby Logan and Clare Balding have been fronting the coverage for the BBC.

Just three years ago, Alex faced criticism on social media for her accent during her appearance on the BBC's Olympics coverage.

The ex-England star came under fire from Lord Digby Jones, a former Government minister, who suggested she needed 'elocution lessons' because she speaks with a London accent.

In a series of tweets, the crossbench peer in the House of Lords, said: 'Enough! I can't stand it anymore!

'Alex Scott spoils a good presentational job on the BBC Olympics Team with her very noticeable inability to pronounce her 'g's at the end of a word.

'Competitors are NOT taking part, Alex, in the fencin, rowin, boxin, kayakin, weightliftin & swimmin.'

He went on to compare her to Sky's Beth Rigby and the Home Secretary and added: 'Can't someone give these people elocution lessons?...On behalf of the English Language...Help!'

But Alex, who was awarded an MBE in 2017 and accrued 140 caps for England, shrugged off the attack and said negative tweets only spur her on.

She said: 'I'm from a working class family in East London, Poplar, Tower Hamlets & I am PROUD.

'Proud of the young girl who overcame obstacles, and proud of my accent! It's me, it's my journey, my grit.'

She went on to urge young children 'who may not have a certain kind of privilege in life' to never allow judgements on class, accent or appearance to hold them back and added: 'Use your history to write your story. Keep striving, keep shining & don't change for anyone.'

The TV presenter concluded: 'Tweets like this just give me the energy to keep going. See you tomorrow.. live on BBC baby.'

Alex seems to have put that all behind her as she has continued to delight fans with adorable images from her holiday withJess and their friends.

In one picture, Alex and singer Jess, 34, look smitten as they flash their smiles and pull silly faces for some poolside selfies.

Another image shows the couple, snuggled up on a sun lounger as they enjoy the hot Spanish weather.

A third blurry snap shows the pair were partying hard as well as relaxing, with the Hold My Hand hitmaker sweeping the BBCfootball pundit off her feet on a night out.

Alex recently revealed she kept her relationship with Jess a secret for more than a year because they both 'knew their love was special'.

The former footballer and her singer girlfriend made their public debut as a couple in March at the BRIT Awards by posing on the carpet together.

Alex explained how they wanted to protect themselves for as long as possible, she said: 'It took us a while because we knew what we have is so special, so it has been about trying to protect that and keep that for us in such a way that it continues to be beautiful.'

She recalled a sweet early memory when they met for the first time and Alex admitted she didn't know how to act which caused Jess to jokily say 'Are you not going to put your arms around me?'.

Alex shared that the awkward encounter is still something they laugh about now.
